With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Scott Anthony Gutierrez, who departed this world on March 8, 2026, at the age of 63, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Scott's journey began on October 6, 1962, in
Denver, Colorado, and he leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and countless cherished memories.
Scott was the beloved son of Joe and Jackie, who provided him with a foundation of love and support. He is now reunited with family who passed before, finding peace in their embrace. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Monica, whose partnership was a testament to enduring love and shared dreams. Together, they created a beautiful life, raising Josh, Marchand and their dog Roxy, who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. He was a proud grandfather to Jacob, Nathan, and Hannah, who were the light of his life and brought him immeasurable joy.
Scott and Monica's love story began when they met at a Halloween party that would shape their lives forever. Their journey took them across the nation, from the golden shores of California to the majestic mountains of Colorado, before they finally found their haven in Florida. Their marriage was a testament to true partnership, filled with laughter, adventure, and an unwavering bond.
Scott's educational journey saw him graduate from high school in Wyoming, where he was not only a standout in track/cross country but also a beloved friend to many. His passion for the open road led him to obtain his CDL, and with determination and hard work, he founded his own successful trucking company. Through his work, Scott formed lasting friendships with many he met along the way, always remembered for his reliability and dedication.
An avid tennis player, Scott relished the hours-long, hard-fought battles on the court with Josh as well as many sets played against friends. A lifelong Denver Broncos fan, he cheered for his team with boundless enthusiasm. His love for the outdoors, especially water parks in the summer with the grandkids, was a testament to his zest for life and desire to create lasting memories with his family.
Scott's personal qualities were as remarkable as his achievements. Known for his warm smile and quick wit, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a talent for quoting movie lines for any situation, bringing humor and joy to those around him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
In his final days, Scott was surrounded by the compassionate care of the staff at the hospice, to whom the family extends their deepest gratitude for their support and assistance. In keeping with his wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor his memory.
"Life is a beautiful ride, so hold on tight and enjoy every moment." His spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us to cherish every day and to live with love, laughter, and gratitude.
Scott Gutierrez will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts.
