Scott Mathew Kelly

Scott Mathew Kelly, age 64, of Crystal, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

On June 13, 1961, Scott was born to Rudy and Lavonne "Bonnie" (Fishburn) Kelly in Carson City, where he became one of thirteen children. He was blessed with 2 daughters, Nacole and Kortney, who soon became his world. After 2 years of a long-distance relationship that was set up by a mutual contact, Scott's girlfriend, Linda Fee, moved from Ohio to Michigan to be with him. On August 14, 2014, he married his best friend and soulmate Linda in Stanton.

A true outdoorsman, Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and the peacefulness of the U.P. He loved his job as a heavy machine operator for the Montcalm County Road Commission and the people he worked with. Scott worked there for over 26 years until he retired in 2017. Yet, somehow, he found the time to work on cars and being a daredevil with motorcycles and quads when the opportunity struck him through the years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 11 years Linda; children Nacole (Josh) Frisbie, Kortney (Mark) Terry, Ed (Lisa) Burger, Dan (Carrie) Burger, Angela (Carl) Johnson; grandchildren, Bailey Terry, Seth Terry, Drew (Amber) Frisbie, and Hunter Frisbie; great-grandchildren Addie and Benji; and many more grand and great-grandchildren; siblings Sherry, Linda, Tammy, Wade, Greg, Kirk, Connie, Jeff, and Randy.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Bonnie; siblings Jeannie, Craig, Alan, and Kathleen; and father-in-law Dale Bowen.

Per Scott's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering in his honor will be held on Friday, September 19,2025 at 6:00 pm at the Crystal Community Center.
