When I was 10, Scott delivered packages to all of us Amherst kids growing up. He never just dropped and ran-he´d challenge us to a quick game of basketball, dunk on our makeshift hoop, or stop to play with us for a few minutes. Even then, he showed up with joy.
Years later, when I was 18-22, I worked for Scott as his UPS winter helper between school sessions. We had so much fun delivering packages-him teaching me how to drive the UPS truck while he napped on the couch at Basket Barn during lunch breaks. We laughed constantly.
Scott and Melissa welcomed me into their lives, and I miss them both dearly. Scott had an infectious laugh and a way of making everything lighter. I hope he´s up there laughing, cracking jokes, and getting in some good tennis matches.
The last time I talked with him, about a year ago, we laughed just like always. He was truly one of a kind-someone who took life seriously, but also knew how to maximize the time he had and fully love life. I´m a better person because of Scott.
For now, I´ll try to do more "Scott things" in my own life-and have a good time doing them. Thanks for all the love, Scott. Enjoy the ride.

I saw the smile and recognized him immediately. With memories of 55 years ago with your parents and siblings I send along my sympathies and a promise of prayers as well as the occasion for fond recollections.

Scott was a great and dear friend. I am shocked and saddened by his passing. It is very difficult to think of him not being around anymore. I had him as a student at Central high school, I coached him in Tennis and remained a close friend the rest of his life. I will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.
