Scott Edvin Lawson, 62, of Murfreesboro, TN passed peacefully on October 17th, 2025 surrounded by those he loved most at home after an extremely difficult journey with cancer and a massive stroke.
Born in the bright and early hours of August 5th, 1963 to Roberta and Dewey Lawson in Columbus, OH, Scott was always keen on adventure. He spent much of his youth riding bikes through the mud and working a paper route to earn money for his family. Throughout his young adult years, he transitioned from hand-tossing pizzas at Pizza Hut toward bigger and better things: the U.S. Army.
He would spend the next four years dedicating his life to serving our country in Germany during the Cold War before coming back home in 1987. He worked many odd jobs, but was known for his work in the serving industry and pyrotechnics.
Scott was also a creative soul with a passion for art in many mediums. He spent much of his free time watching movies, woodworking, or designing a new resin piece. He also had a deep passion for classic rock, holding a soft spot for Pink Floyd's Animals album and The Beatles.
Scott is survived by his wife, Diane Lawson, his three daughters, Gabriella Lawson, Jessica "JJ"Squire, and Taylor "Taydie" Lawson as well as another honorary daughter, Charlee Miller; his beloved "grand-pets," Frog and Toad; and his 4 siblings.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Scott will be remembered for his infectious humor that could light up any room and his friendly, yet feisty demeanor that could make anyone a friend.
Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 1pm - 2pm with A Memorial service to follow at 2pm.
