Scott Lundquist, 76, of Spicer, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital from leukemia.
His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will military honors will be at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in Willmar.
Scott Alan Lundquist was born September 2, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Lowell and Madonna (Merritt) Lundquist. He grew up in Willm ar, was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church, and graduated from Willmar High School in 1965. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as a medic in Germany for two years during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he worked briefly at the Cookie Company, salesman for Filter Queen, an agent for New York Life Insurance, and salesman for Klein Floorcovering.
On February 14, 1970, he married Rachael Valentine at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church and two children: Sheila and Nathan, were born to their marriage. They made their home in Willmar. Scott attended Meeker County School of Nursing receiving his LPN degree in 1971. After graduation he worked as an LPN at Rice Memorial Hospital and a surgical physician's assistant for Dr. McAffee. In 1973 he moved to Spicer building their own home on a 3 acre hobby farm. In 1975, Scott began working as a clerk at the Spicer Post Office and also operated Spicer Floor Covering. He retired from the Spicer Post Office on February 28, 2013, with 40 years of service.
Scott was a member of the Minnesota Air National Guard for several years. He was also a member of the Spicer American Legion Post and was active with the Willmar High School Class of 1965 reunion planning committee.
Scott is survived by his wife: Rachael; his two children: Sheila (Rev. Steven) Bliss of Storden, MN, and Nathan Lundquist of Jackson, WY; and two grandchildren: Kyle and Jordan Bliss. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother: Dan in 1957.
