Scott McNutt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Gloucester on May 3, 2024.
WOBURN - Scott B. McNutt, 65, of Woburn, formerly of Gloucester, passed away Tuesday evening, April 23, 2024, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of the late Michelle (Simoneau) McNutt. Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, Scott was the son of the late P. Harvey McNutt and his beloved wife June (Williams) McNutt. Scott spent much of his life in Gloucester and especially loved the Coffins Beach area.
Scott enjoyed working hard throughout his life and over the years he became a jack of all trades. Scott spent his younger years working at his father's business, operating heavy equipment. He eventually started doing carpentry, then became a commercial truck driver. Scott was known throughout many cities and towns for his quick delivery and long days on the road. He loved taking rides on his beautiful Harley Davidson motorcycle. It did not matter if it was long or short. If the sun was out, Scott was out.
If he wasn't working, riding, or doing a project around the house he was spending time with his large family who he adored, especially his many grandchildren. Nothing made Scott happier than his family. His smile was so pure, it could light up a room, and his laugh couldn't have been more contagious. Scott's smile never left his face, even at the very end he'd tell everyone else to stay positive.
Surviving him are two daughters, Meaghan McCarthy and her husband Connor of Rockport and Kimberly Weeks and her husband Matt of NH; two sons, Robert McNutt and his wife Shyla of Gloucester and Tommy Mattson of Salem; two step sons, Vito Aiello of Gloucester and Matt Aiello and his wife Jenn of CT; twelve grandchildren, Devin, Dylan, Maddy, Cody, Isabella, Chelsey, Sadie, Bryson, Charley, Robert, Michelle and Melania; one great grandchild, Jackson; five siblings, Jennifer Dennen of RI, Susan Roubian of Methuen, Kathy Caissie of Billerica, Robert McNutt of Billerica and Bonita O'Brien of Gloucester. As well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was predeceased by his brother, Harvey McNutt, three brothers-in-law, David Feeney, George Spoon and David Simoneau and his mother-in-law, Betty Spoon.
A Celebration of Life for Scott will be announced and held at a later date. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
