Scott "Scooter" Dwayne Thompson, age 58 of Long Beach, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Scooter is preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Elizabeth Ann Thompson.
He is survived by his sisters; Tammy Boudreaux (Billy) and Robin Thompson; and niece, Sarah Boudreaux.
Scooter is a graduate of Long Beach Senior High School. He started his career in produce at Piggly Wiggly in Long Beach. From there, he went to work for food broker, Bud Mayer and represented the southeast region. He also worked in the casino industry as a dealer until Katrina. After Katrina, he went to work for Pilot as an insurance adjuster. After a life changing back injury that left him disabled, he started Scooter's Farm Fresh Produce. He was very passionate about serving the local community with fresh produce.
Scooter was also a proud Mason.
His family would like to thank everyone for supporting "Scooter's" over the years. He truly enjoyed his days at his corner of Jeff Davis and Highway 90. He loved his customers.
A visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, Mississippi. A memorial service will follow at the same location at 2:00 PM.
