Scott Thomas Sikora, 48, of Kalkaska, passed away on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born to Thomas and Christine (Rogus) Sikora in Traverse City, Michigan on December 5th, 1973. Scott was a very compassionate and witty man who graduated from Kalkaska High School. During high school, he cooked at Nick's Restaurant. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. During his time with the navy, he was able to travel all around the world aboard the USS Normandy. He especially enjoyed his time in the beautiful Mediterranean. After his time in the Navy, Scott decided to enroll in culinary school and turn his enthusiasm for cooking into a career. Scott's love of cooking was infectious, making it very easy to work side by side with him. Because of this many of Scott's closest friends were made throughout his career. He was a private man who in his spare time enjoyed reading and walking in the woods taking time to reflect. Scott will be lovingly remembered and missed by his parents Tom and Christine; brothers Bryan Sikora and Keith (Jennifer) Sikora; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Michigan for their phenomenal assistance during difficult times. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Kalkaska Funeral Home at 11:30 am. A visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
