My sympathy and prayers on your loss. I have known Scott ever since I was a young and impressionable undergrad at the University of Kansas' School of Education. He also recruited and hired me for my first KSDE job as a first-year graduate student. I will continue to remember him as a great professor and boss. Thank you, Scott.

I am sorry for your loss. I have known Scott ever since I was an impressionable first-year graduate student at the University of Kansas. He was also the one who recruited me for a KSDE job and grateful for the experience. I will continue to remember Scott as one my favorite professors and boss. Thank you, Scott and prayers to your family.

I worked with Scott for 9 years at KSDE. He was so smart, kind, witty, and humble. It was evident that he adored his wife and daughters and always grinned when he talked about them. He was a champion for high-quality education standards, instruction, and assessments. EVERY student in this state (including my own children) benefitted from his dedication. May our Lord comfort you all - Scott's family - during this sad time.
