Scott Smith, age 69 of Otisville, died Wednesday, January 28, 2026. His funeral service will be held at 2PM on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 12:30pm until the time of his service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
Scott was born on July 3, 1956 in Flint, MI to Glendon and Jacqueline Smith. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time at the Columbiaville Sportsman Club, doing shooting events and shooting archery. He was a big hunter and fisherman. He fished up and down the Flint River and very seldom came home empty handed. Scott always had the smoker full of the fish he caught or the game he shot. He enjoyed sharing the food with his family and friends. He loved hanging out with friends, family, and his dog, Scooter. He also enjoyed having a cold beverage and was known for his quick wit.
Scott is survived by his children: Jaqueline Smith, Carl Smith, and Will Heath; grandchildren: Alexis, Jacob, and Scarlet; great grandchild, Axel; siblings: Jaislee (Jeff) Dexter and Doug (Laura) Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Smith; nephew, Kyle Smith; best friend, Bird Addison; his dog, Sadie Sue; and his bird, “Homie.”
