Scott Sunderman Sr. 65, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at his home. He was born December 13, 1959 in St. Joseph, son of Thelma and Leland Sunderman. He attended Central High School. Following high school, he served in the US Army and later US Army Reserves. He was a member of the VFW Post 6760 Scott spent many years working as an over the road Truck Driver, and most recently as a Bus Driver for West Platte Schools. Scott was also a former Volunteer Firefighter with the Rushville Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and watching old TV shows. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Leland Sunderman Jr. Survivors include: children, Scott (Alisa) Sunderman, Jr. of St. Joseph, Ashley Stephens, Michael Sunderman of Elwood, KS, Steven Sunderman of Mexico, MO, Derek (Bailey) Sunderman of Lancaster, KS, David (Nicole) Lawson of Atchison, KS, and Dana (Michael) Orhood, grandchildren, Whitney and Ciara Sunderman, Steven Butler, Julie Zuniga, and Amelia Eastwood, former wifes, Dianna Monshower, and Deanna Sunderman-Paul.
Mr. Sunderman has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, September 20, 2025 at VFW Post 6760, 306 Cherokee St. St. Joseph, Mo. Memorials are requested to the Scott Sunderman Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home.
