Scott Anthony Taylor, age 58, of Pittsburg, IL, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at his home.

He was born on July 30, 1967 in Carmi, IL to Michael Eugene and Zelda Yvonne (McKay) Taylor.

Scott worked in excavating for Earth Services for many years. He loved to operate machinery. He was a 1985 graduate of Crab Orchard High School. Scott's granddaughters were his entire world. He had a big heart and loved his family more than anything.

Survivors include his mother, Zelda Taylor of Pittsburg; daughter, Katelyn (Brandon) McRill of McLeansboro; son, Mason Taylor (Morgan Poole) of Pittsburg; granddaughters, Mila McRill, and Lyla McRill; brother, Andy Taylor (Sandy Turner) of Carrier Mills; sister, Brandie (Jason) Cooper of Kankakee; nieces, and nephews, Cody Taylor (Chelsea), Drake Cooper, and Mia Cooper, and MiKyla Upchurch; great nieces, Avery, and Rilynn; and the mother of his children and special friend, Lisa (Geno) Kalous.

He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Amanda Taylor; and sister, Shelly Upchurch.

Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.

In accordance with Scott's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. The family will host a celebration of life at Morello's Restaurant in Harrisburg, IL on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. to share photos and memories.

For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Scott's granddaughters' college fund. Checks may be made payable to "Katelyn McRill." Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
