Scott Richard Trandem, 62, of Crookston, MN passed away peacefully Friday August 8th, 2025 at Villa St Vincent in Crookston, MN, with his family by his side.

Scott was born on December 18, 1962, in Crookston, MN, to Sheldon and Rita (Solberg) Trandem. He grew up in Crookston and graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1981, where he was a member of the hockey, football, and golf teams. Following high school, Scott attended various technical colleges in the area, continuing to build the skills that would shape his lifelong career.

On November 26, 1994, Scott married the love of his life Catherine Louise Weiland at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Euclid, MN. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and adventure, raising three wonderful children-Danelle, Amanda, and Luke-whom Scott cherished deeply. Scott was raised in the Lutheran faith, he later converted to Catholicism after marrying and starting a family. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN.

Scott dedicated his career to the paving industry, working many years for companies such as Minn-Dak Asphalt and REIT Rock Paving. Known for his tireless work ethic, he spent countless summer hours on job sites, taking pride in the work he did and the people he worked with. Scott made many friends during his career making lasting friendships, where he got the nickname toad.

When the work season slowed, Scott found joy in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who cherished time spent in the woods or on the water. Whether he was in a deer stand or dropping a line through the ice, Scott was most at peace surrounded by nature. He also had a deep love for gardening, finding joy and peace in tending to the earth and watching things grow.

Scott was a natural storyteller with an easy smile and a warm presence. He had a gift for conversation and could strike up a friendly chat with anyone he met. His stories, sense of humor, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife Catherine Trandem, their three children-Danelle (Emmanuel) Mello of Crookston, MN, Amanda Trandem (Izaac Jacobson) of Fargo, ND, and Luke (Lydia) Trandem of Arthur, ND. His sister Sheri (Phil) Altepeter, and many extended family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
