Scott Dennis Ward passed away peacefully at his home in Buchanan, ND on June 27, 2024 with his significant other of 30 years, JoAnn Swift and his faithful pack of Dachshund companions, Lewey, Popeye, Olive, Bawlbaby and Hellion by his side.
Scott was born on November 9, 1958 to Dennis Ralph Ward and Ruth (Maxwell) Ward. He attended school in Fordville, ND. After graduating he began his life-long career of driving semi for Altendorf Trucking out of Minto ND until his death.
Scott is survived by JoAnn, daughter Katie (Joe) Mergenthal Blanchette of Prior Lake, MN, stepson, Joshua (Cassie) Swift of Ansley NE, grandchildren Ellie & Hudson of Prior Lake MN and Blakley & Greylen of Ansley NE, mother Ruth Ward Nilson of Moorhead, MN, brother Lee Ward of Lisbon, ND, sisters Kimberly (Gordon) Castleman of Kindred, ND and Janine (Brian) Haugen of Fargo, ND, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by stepson Jesse Swift, father Dennis Ward, and brother Mark Ward.
