Scotty David Bradley, age 59, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025—his 59th birthday. Scotty is originally from Hayesville, North Carolina. Scotty was one of six children.
He was the beloved husband of Melissa Bradley and a devoted father to Dustin Bradley, Dalton Bradley, and Leah Bradley. Scotty was also the proud grandfather of Bristal Towe, Oaklyn Bradley, and Bo Westin Garrett. In addition, he is survived by his brother Jeff Bradley and his sister Brenda Bradley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Mary Ann Bradley; two brothers Joey Bradley and Jason Bradley and sister, Bernice Kendall.
Scotty attended Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a hardworking man who owned and operated his own stone masonry, Custom Stone. He also had a natural talent for mechanics and loved working on motorcycles, small machines, and vehicles. He spent many hours happily tinkering and repairing engines.
Beyond his work, Scotty enjoyed horseback riding and was truly a jack-of-all-trades. He was kind-hearted and always willing to help anyone in need. It was not unusual for him to stop to assist a stranger with car trouble on the side of the road. He loved children, and they in turn adored him—little ones especially gravitated toward his warm and fun nature.
Above all, Scotty deeply loved his family. He cherished his children and grandchildren—they were the light of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and selflessness. He will be deeply missed by his family, his community, and the many friends he made throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Byers officiating.
