Sean M. DAWSON, 32, of Alfred, NY, formerly of Wellsville, passed away on August 19, 2025. Born September 30, 1992, in San Diego, CA, he was the son of David and Mary Mulé Dawson. Sean was a kind and gentle soul who faced life with innocence and resilience despite many challenges. Born with special needs, Sean navigated life through the lens of a young teen, relying on the support and care of those who loved him. He loved video games, animals, and especially cooking, which he inherited from his mother’s talent and love for food. Sean’s generosity and thoughtfulness was clear in little acts of care, such as buying lunch for friends.
Sean relied on the support of others for doctor’s appointments, transportation, and other daily needs. After the loss of his father ten years ago and his mother nine years ago, Sean’s life became even more difficult without their steady guidance and care. Though he faced many challenges, he remained gentle, loyal, and full of heart, bringing warmth, laughter, and kindness to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Dawson. He is survived by his brother, Damon Dawson; sister, Jacy (Edward) Pierce; nephew, Caleb Castro; uncle, Jess Dawson; cousins, Jess Dawson and Brian Dawson; along with extended family and friends who will always remember his gentle spirit.
Sean will be cremated. His ashes will be scattered with his parents, reunited with the two people who loved and cared for him the most.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 30, 2025 in The Presbyterian Church of Wellsville, 68 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY 14895.
Memorials may be made to Rescue Pups, Inc., 3073 Pangburn Rd, Friendship, NY 14713.
