Sean Todd Whitlock

Sean Todd Whitlock, Age 39. Beloved son of Todd and Debbie (nee Matney). Dear brother of Joni Stark (Erik). Loving grandson of Joan Matney (Robert, deceased) and the late Arthur and Marge Whitlock. Loving uncle of C.J. Stark. Dear nephew, cousin and friend to many. Passed away April 23, 2025.
Sean was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He had a great sense of humor and was known for giving the best hugs. His family and friends meant the world to him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
After college, Sean joined the family business at Metropolitan Pools. He worked there for 20 years. He was invaluable to our business and will be missed every day.
If asked what his passion was it would have to be football. He played from first grade flag to Lakewood High School and Mount Union College. Following that he started his coaching career where he coached football at Lakewood, Rocky River, North Olmsted, and finally at Independence High School. He loved coaching for many years alongside his Dad. They both absolutely loved MICHIGAN FOOTBALL. So happy he got to celebrate the National Championship in 2023 together.
Losing Sean has left a hole in so many hearts. His smiling face, his giant hugs, and his big heart will be missed forever!
Family will receive friends in the McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF LAKEWOOD 14133 DETROIT AVE. Tuesday, April 29 from 4-7 PM. Private Entombment Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
