Dr. Khan was one of my favorite professors. I was one of his student researchers from 1976-1979 when I graduated. Traveled with him and others students to present research papers

Dr. Khan was an excellent professor and person. I had him for Botany during my time at ECSU. I enjoyed his discussions. May his memory be a blessing.

My most sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Sekender Khan. He made the botany & biology classes that I was fortunate to be under his instruction, most enjoyable. In my mind´s eye, I can see him walking the classroom with one hand on his hip, and the other with a small piece of chalk in it; doing good work, and impacting the lives of his students.
I remember the many stories he would tell about studying by candlelight in his native India. He´d literally walk botany, and plant systematics students around campus and teach about the vegetation on the beautiful campus of Elizabeth City State University. Over the years since graduating, I´d see him around town, and he´d always ask about my career, and how things were going. He was a very kind, patient, and intelligent soul, who was always willing to encourage, and share his knowledge. Thank you Dr. Khan, for making me love Botany, and for encouraging me to be great ! Donna Elise Nevius-Rivers B.S. Biology ECSU class of 1999.
