Senator Hoyle leaves a legacy of integrity, dedication and significant accomplishments as a member of the NC General Assembly. I had the honor of working with him for many years at the Legislature. He was always very kind to me, and also very candid with me on where I stood when I lobbied him on an issue. I valued his friendship and his sound advice and counsel. RIP Senator Hoyle.

Linda, I´m so sorry for your loss. I worked with David while he was in the Senate and later at DOR when he was appointed Secretary of Revenue. I admired him greatly and enjoyed keeping in touch with him after he retired. Gaston County and the State of NC lost a true statesman with his passing. God Bless.

Sen Hoyle was a very effective member of the NC General Assembly. I had the opportunity to work with him on many issues. He and Rep George Holmes were instrumental in providing a $5,000,000 appropriation to the NC Wildlife Resources Commission to expand the South Mountains Game Land in Rutherford County by 18,000 acres in 1997.
