Seraphina Rene Shaver, 14, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on August 24, 2024. Born on September 30, 2009. Seraphina was a lively and gifted young woman whose enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
A sophomore at Caddo Magnet High School, Seraphina was known for her love of volleyball and her passion for music. Her presence on the court and her dedication to her team were matched only by the joy she found in sharing her favorite songs with friends and family.
Seraphina was more than a student athlete; she was the heart and soul of her family, known for her impeccable timing in delivering comedic relief. Her quick wit, outspoken nature, and fiercely independent spirit brought laughter and joy to everyone around her.
"Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you." This sentiment perfectly reflects Seraphina's impact on those who loved her. "She leaves a part of her where she goes", touching the lives of everyone she met. Her love, courage, and laughter will continue to resonate with everyone who knew her.
Seraphina is survived by her parents, Jake and Siobhann Shaver; her sisters, Layla & Brenna; her grandparents, Robert & Trudie Shaver of Shreveport; Jackie Ballantine of Texarkana, and Ronald Ballantine of Shreveport; uncle, Kieran Ballantine of Dallas, aunt and uncle Dan & Amanda Cason of Coushatta along with cousins Hayden, Easton, & Annalise.
A visitation will be held on Thursday August 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow on Friday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church. In honor of Seraphina's vibrant spirit, attendees are encouraged to wear her favorite color pink. We will celebrate the life of a truly remarkable young woman who will be deeply missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Save The Music Foundation or The American Bullmastiff Association.
