Setha Din Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dery Funeral Home on Jun. 27, 2023.
Setha Din, 64 of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on June 15, 1959, the daughter of Dim Din, and Se Keo, she escaped Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge regime as a teenager, and lived in a refugee camp in Thailand with her first born son, Than Nay. She and her son were sponsored to Binghamton, NY in 1990.
Setha lived in various states before settling in Pittsfield where she was employed at Berkshire Medical Center from 2004 to 2023. She devoted her life to working hard to raise her three children at home while also helping out her family in Cambodia. She enjoyed cooking homemade Cambodian dishes for her family at home and coworkers at BMC.
Setha was predeceased by her parents, and partner Souphy Kinthiseng (02/02/1949 – 04/05/02). She leaves behind her children; son Than Nay, daughter Sopheary Din, son Phourasamy Din and his wife Lais Din, and granddaughter Blair Castro-Din, all of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind her siblings, nieces, and nephews in Cambodia, and as well as in-law relatives in the United States.
The family would like to send our love, and gratitude to the Phelps Cancer Center, Berkshire Medical Center, BMC's Oncology Team, Hospice Care in the Berkshires, Baystate Oncology in Springfield, MA, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Brookline, MA, caregivers, doctors and nurses for their care during her journey with cancer.
There will also be a 100th Day Ceremony that will take place in Cambodia in September 2023, and any donations made in lieu of flowers will be provided towards Setha's hometown village and ceremony in Cambodia.
