Great memories of my dad, Joe Haven White and I watching golf together on the weekends. The first time I saw Seve I was mesmerized! Imagine my excitement when it was announced that the TPA was coming to Lake City, Florida and Seve would be there! I begged my dad to let me go and camera in hand, I was in heaven! I was fortunate to be able to meet him and he gave me his golfball! He was so gracious and that smile.....my nickname that year on my birthday card was "Seve" and I still have it! Losing Seve so young and tragically was like losing a part of my Dad all over again.

I will miss him to me he was my favorite Golfer that has ever played the game.In 2004 he sent me his picture signed my name from Seve.I will cherrish that forever.God Bless You Seve and your family in Spain,

I dont follow golf at all but from hearing Seve speak and what he had to say about various topics I could gather that he was a remarkable human being and a true asset to the sport and world. Its sad that he lost his battle with cancer but his words and memory will always echo throughout the fairways. May you rest in peace.

Seve was an amazingly determined individual and golfer. His unique style was great to watch in person or on television. He played with so much pride and joy on the most competitve stage in the game of golf. He seemed to relish any challenge in tournament play. Never one to back away from any difficult shot. His outlook inspired many of his fans. An artist always at work with his canvas ever-changing from course to course. He motivated a younger generation of golfers by his classy style. He will be missed. God bless his family, friends, and fellow golfers.

There are the few who leave their mark and legacy on this world and the many who do not. Seve was one of the remarkable few. I feel blessed to have lived during his era and been inspired not only by his golf but by the way he dealt with the health problems he had in later life. Thank you Seve.

I grew up watching Seve play golf on the television, and almost never in my time watching sport have I seen someone perform to such high standards, while wearing his heart on sleve all of the time. A marvellous character who is already terribly missed. I would like to send my sincere condolences to his family, but also to Jose Maria Olazabal, whose deeply touching tributes to his dear friend Seve at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, were as uplifting as they were saddening.

As I heard it said yesterday. Seve was the quintessential swashbuckler. I always loved that Seve seemed to be able to overcome anything. I remember how he would encourage and cheer on his fellow golfers. A truly unique spirit. Although I never met you Seve I always admired you. Rest in peace my good man.

I wish the technology we have today would have been available in the 70`s and 80`s.
In the states we never got to see the great golf Seve played all over the world.
we only saw what he achieved in the Masters and BRITISH OPENS.
He was my hero then and still today.
I am 66 and am grateful I got to see him.

So sorry to hear about Seve. I am a former employee of Sounder Sports, we sponsored Seve for awhile. I was fortunate to have my picture taken with him when he visited our factory. He will be greatly missed.

A true gentlemen. I was fortunate enough to be at the Augusta National in 1980 when he won the Masters. So sad to see him leave us so early at such a young age.

My 51 year old brother Mike died of brain cancer at 51.You both died too young.God bless your family.

Cancer is a most devastating disease. I lost my daughter to this disease almost 9 years ago. She was only 19. I admired Mr. Ballesteros for his talent, his love of the game, his passion, his daring spirit and yes, his incredible good looks. My heart felt his family's pain when he was first diagnosed. We are so blessed to have shared moments of his career and we are pained at his loss.

The golf world has lost a legend. Very sad news... God Bless his family, friends, and colleagues. You're in our thoughts and prayers.
