Seward Daugharty, 81, of Stockton passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Howell, GA on December 1, 1940 to the late Frank and Lizzie Daugharty. Mr. Seward Daugharty graduated from Echols County High School and attended ABAC. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and exploring. Mr. Daugharty loved the river. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Homerville. Mr. Daugharty co owned and operated Daugharty Brother's Site Preparation and owned and operated Seward Daugharty and Company, Southland Communications and Southland Contractors.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Daugharty of Stockton, two daughters and sons in law, Laura and Bill Davidson of Santa Barbara, CA and Angela and Thomas Nix of Orlando, FL, one son and daughter in law, Frank and Delaine Daugharty of Stockton, grandchildren and great grandchildren and brother and sister in law, Ralph and Juanita Daugharty of Howell. Mr. Daugharty is preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and one granddaughter, Laney Dowdy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at eleven a. m. at Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor Austin Deloach and Elder Dwight Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Wayfare Cemetery. He will be placed in the church at ten a. m. The family will receive friends from five until seven p. m. Monday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3105 Valdosta Highway, Homerville, GA 31634. Please express condolences to the family at www.mclanecares.com
