Sgt. Cade Wolfe Fallen Hero Procession Announced

(1/3/2024) — Mankato — The remains of Sgt. Cade Wolfe, killed in a military training accident in mid-November, are expected to be returned home on Thursday January 4, 2024, with plans for a "Fallen Hero Procession" to salute him before Friday's memorial service.

Wolfe was on a routine training mission in the Mediterranean Sea when the tragic accident occurred, killing Wolfe and 4 of his fellow service members. The Department of Defense said there was an accident as the MH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was refueling.

All those interested in honoring the fallen Army solider are encouraged to take safe roadside positions, flags in hand, to pay respects as the procession passes.

The airport arrival will remain private for the immediate family. Community members are discouraged from coming to the airport. Law Enforcement vehicles are to stage at the airport. Local fire and other responders, including military groups, are encouraged to post themselves along the processional route.
