SGT David Cory Vierwinden, 73, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on April 14, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
David was born in Fresno, California on October 6, 1951. He was born to the late Teunis Cornellius Vierwinden and Lucille Mae Phillips Vierwinden.
He is survived by his wife Dinh Vierwinden; daughter Sue Maloney; a grandson, Zainal Maloney and a granddaughter, Stephanie Fox; great granddaughter Evelynn Bowman; and a host of extended family members and friends.
David’s military awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; NCO Professional Development Ribbon; Expert Badge M-16; Driver Badge (W), and Army Good Conduct Medal 3rd Awd.
The Family will receive friends Friday, April 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Funeral Services will be held following the visitation.
Interment will be at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304 at 2:00 PM.
