Sha-Tera Alexas Coleman-Todd was born to Sandra Roberson-Coleman and Tyrone Coleman Sr. on February 27th, 1997, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was the second eldest of her parents' union, with older brother Tyrone Coleman Jr. and two younger siblings, Tyrece and Shanae Coleman.
Sha-Tera attended Erickson Elementary, East and Ypsilanti Middle School, and Ypsilanti New Tech. She was joyful, outgoing, loving, and caring, constantly pushing others to be their best version. Throughout youth and high school, Sha-Tera participated in cheerleading. She took pride in creating cheers and supporting her teammates. Sha-Tera loved to bake, read, and sing karaoke and was a true fashionista.
After graduating high school, Sha-Tera attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she obtained her Bachelor's in Communication Studies on December 14th, 2019. During her undergraduate years, she joined Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Sha-Tera was the ACE of her Spring 2018 line and earned her line name "Thee Golden Epiphany." Soon after joining her sorority, Sha-Tera met the love of her life, Phillip Todd.
Upon obtaining her Bachelor's, Sha-Tera continued to form her union with her husband, Phillip Todd, and bonus daughter, Peyton. On September 30th, 2023, Sha-Tera and Phillip said their 'I do's' and became one.
Sha-Tera's journey was marked by her remarkable achievements. She founded and owned Coley Oley's LLC, a cookie dough business for "when all you want is one cookie!" She continued her education and earned her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University on April 27th, 2024. During her graduate years, she helped countless individuals as a counseling intern for Wicks Therapy PLLC and the Personal Counseling Center at Ferris State University. Sha-Tera's dedication to changing the stigma within mental health was commendable. On May 25th, 2024, Sha-Tera passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE), officially credentialing her as a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC). Her excitement to enter her career field was infectious, as she joined the 4% of Black Therapists, ready to make a significant impact. Her achievements serve as an inspiration to all who knew her.
On June 25th, 2024, Sha-Tera was called home to the Lord. She is now an angel, watching over us all.
Sha-Tera's love knew no bounds. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories with her Husband, Phillip Todd; Bonus Daughter, Peyton Todd; Parents, Sandra Roberson-Coleman and Tyrone Coleman Sr.; Siblings, Tyrone Coleman Jr, Tyrece Coleman, and Shanae Coleman; Nephews, Tyrone Coleman III, and Kazmir Coleman; Grandmothers, Myra Reed, and Patsy Coleman; Grandfather; Aunts, Lynnelle Crutcher, Raquel Roberson-Singleton, and Nicole Coleman; Uncles, Stanley Roberson III, Michael Coleman Jr., Lowrenza Crutcher, Christopher Bass, and Andy Singleton; Parents-In-Love, Herbert Todd and Rhonda Baxter-Todd; Sisters-In-Love, Leah Todd and Keyiera Mooring-Coleman; and a host of cousins and friends, all of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.

I didn“t know Sha-Tera, just read about her life, her ambition and her goals and accomplishments. I wanted to let you know how very sorry I am that she lost her life, especially as a result of such a senseless set of circumstances by two people who cared only about themselves. May God bless all of you with peace and comfort that only He can give as you mourn the loss of a very special person.
