Shanda Lynn Medlin, age 64, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Savannah on May 2, 1959, to Jackey Franklin and Naomi Ruth Boggess Durrence and was reared in Glennville. She was a 1977 graduate of the Glennville High School and received her Register Nurse degree from Floyd Medical College in Rome, GA. She lived in Carrolton for many years before moving to Reidsville in 2000. She had retired as a RN from Meadows Memorial Hospital in Vidalia. Shanda loved watching cooking and home repair shows, The Young and Restless, I love Lucy and watching Rev. Jeffery Barnard preach at the Pine Grove Baptist Church online. She also enjoyed taking care of her dogs and spoiling her grandchildren especially Hannah and Carlynn. Shanda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlie Lee Medlin, and her brothers, Joey and Randy Durrence.
She is survived by her children, Tisha (Jesse) Medlin of Collins, Jonathan Medlin of Reidsville, Amy (Wesley) Thompson of Talapoosa, and Tina Medlin of Jacksonville, Fl; siblings, Mindy (Anthony) James and Mark Durrence of Glennville; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024, with the Memorial Funeral Services to follow at 6:00pm with Reverend Jeffery Barnard officiating.
