Lydia – Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Shane Edward Derouen, 54, of Lydia, who passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, after a brief illness.
Interment will be at a later date.
Pastor Frank Jamieson of Church on the Rock will officiate.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home.
A native of New Iberia, Shane was born on January 11, 1971, to the late Robert and Patricia Guidry Derouen. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and worked 24 years at M.A. Patout Sugar Mill. Shane loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and chatting with his CB Radio family. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 20 years, Mary Bailey Derouen of Lydia; children, Dexter Derouen of New Iberia, Jillian Derouen Vargas (Ashton) of New Iberia, and Zachary Mouton of New Iberia; grandchildren, Skylar Mouton, Evren Derouen, Elliot Derouen, Aedan Vargas, Alaynna Vargas, Avianna Vargas, Azailea Vargas, and Ashton Vargas, Jr; step sisters, Tonya Derouen (Kerney) and Shawne Breaux Frederick (Michael); sister-in-law, Lita Derouen; numerous nieces and nephews.
Shane was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Guidry Breaux; father, Robert Derouen; stepfather, Earl “Larry” Breaux; grandparents, Antione Guidry, Sr. and Marjorie Duhon Guidry; uncle, Antione Guidry, Jr.; brother, Chad Derouen; nephew James Derouen; and a grandson, Elias Vargas.
