Shannan Parker Krause, age 56 of Mandan, passed away on May 20, 2025, in Bismarck, ND.

Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at New Life Church, 1320 Tacoma Ave, Bismarck, with Pastor Marc Eid officiating.

Shannan was born on May 28, 1968, to Gerald Krause and Marie Cahoon in Portland, Oregon. Growing up in Mandan, Shannan graduated from the Adult Learning Center with her GED. Shannan lived in several states including Montana and Utah, before eventually returning to North Dakota. She went on to meet the love of her life, Nathaniel Parker, and they were married on December 22, 2006, at the courthouse in Carson, ND.

Shannan worked as a Room Attendant at the Courtyard Marriott in Bismarck. She also was an active member of New Life Church for over 10 years after being baptized in 2009 in the Heart River by Pastor Gordon Brown following her commitment to getting sober. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, writing poetry, enjoying nature, and spending time with her grandkids; but most of all, she loved spending time in the Word of God and focusing on her faith.

Shannan is survived by her husband, Nathaniel, Mandan; children, Jennifer Young, Stephanie Young, Dion Young, Candace Weasel, Rebecca Hagen, Matthew Hagen, Kara Smith, Harley Smith, and Jimmy James Smith, all of Bismarck; sister, Tabitha Potter, Florida; brothers, Shawn Ostafin and Scott Gerald Krause, both of Bismarck; brother-in-law, Karey Parker, Dickinson; sister-in-law, Rachel Parker, California; along with 29 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Potter and Gerald Krause; cousin, Ronnie Delzer; uncle, Roger Cahoon; and grandparents, Aulden and Bertha Cahoon.

“My superhero is courageous and very famous. He is strong but gentle, intimate and compassionate. He has given the Greatest Sacrifice you see, He has given his life for me. My superhero is loving and kind, He knows every need of mine. He swooped right down and rescued me, then saved me from a deadly disease. That’s only the beginning of the wonders He has performed, out of fire and out of water he rescued my granddaughters. Who is this man that loves so much? Jesus.” – a poem written by Shannan.
