Shannon L. Bomar-David, 53, of Collins, peacefully passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, August 31, 2023, at her home in Delaware, Ohio.
She was born March 4, 1970, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Roy S. (Sam) and Patricia A. (Sayles) Bomar. She began her lifelong career in law enforcement as a dispatcher at the Milan Police Department in Milan, Ohio, while attending Terra Technical College to pursue her associate degree in criminal justice.
After graduating, she moved to Toledo and served on the tri-county drug task force. She then signed on to the Columbus Police Department, most recently serving as a member of the Columbus Mounted Police. She retired on July 13, 2022, after 29 years of faithful service. She loved to travel to new places and meet new people. She was a lover of animals, especially horses, and loved spending time taking care of her "sweet baby Joy." She also enjoyed spending time with her kids, family, and wonderful friends.
She is survived by her son, Mason A. David, and her two daughters, Reese E. David and Reagan L. David of Delaware; her parents, Roy S. Bomar and Patricia A. (Sayles) Bomar of Collins; and her brothers Brett L. Bomar and Ryan A. Bomar of Collins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John W. and Rebecca L. (Sammons) Bomar and Melvin D. and Grace E. (Sly) Sayles.
Memorial Gathering will be at 10 a.m. to noon with a service to follow at noon on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, with Pastor Kale Bougher officiating. A luncheon will be provided at Snyder Rodman Funeral.

Shannon is peacefully riding her 4-H Palomino mare "Lady" in the lush green pastures of heaven. She was a good friend and I will always cherish the fun times we had in 4-H.
