It weighs my heart to even be on here typing! I can´t believe she has been called home. I´ve known Shannon and her gentle, kind and loving heart since 8th grade. I have so many beautiful memories with her and her family. And with she and I and her besty Danielle!! She loved her children (Brennan and Raegan) beyond measure, as well as her mom and grandmother! She loved Jesus, the Wendy Williams show, Eminem and butterflies! Shannon´s favorite color was purple, and that girl didn´t go ANYWHERE without her chapstick! Her smile was contagious and she was always there for me no matter what. She really was a natural born leader and a great mom. I will miss her a lot. I´m so so heartbroken and sad that she has gone on to heaven before us but I do know we will see her again. She will never ever be forgotten for even one day. I pray the Lord give her kids and family and friends the strength to endure this until we see her again in the presence of the Lord. Thank you for being such a good friend to me from the moment we met in school in 8th grade. I will never forget you and I love you sissy. Until I hug you in heaven.
I know she would´ve liked me to put this as well:
To be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8). This expresses the believer´s confidence that earthly existence is not the end of life at all for the Christian. Death immediately ushers the believer into a fuller, higher realm of more abundant life-in the very presence of the Lord. Where my beautiful sister is now. It´s natural for humans to fear the unknown. But thanks to the clear testimony of God´s Word, believers do not have to approach the end of this temporal life in fearful ignorance. On the contrary, we should echo the triumphant words of Paul: "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" (1 Corinthians 15:55). For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. (2 Timothy 4:6-8)
I love you Shannon Leigh!!!
