Shannon Moppin

Shannon Moira Moppin, 29, of Huntsville; passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale. She was born Friday, April 15, 1994, at Springdale; to James Bradley and Deanna Misee Moppin.
Shannon was a mother to three children and a member of First Baptist Church. Shannon became a CPR-certified first responder out of her love for helping others. She also served as a lifeguard, played soccer, and enjoyed arts and crafts. Shannon's greatest love was her children and family. Shannon battled stage four cancer for two years and, with her will and determination, outlived her prognosis for an additional 14 months.
Shannon was preceded in death by grandfathers, Joe Misee and Jim Moppin. She is survived by her children, Colt Dempsey, Jamye Dempsey, and Kimber Dempsey; her parents, Brad and Deanna Moppin. and her seven siblings, Elijah and Haley Moppin, of West Plains, Missouri; Samuel Moppin, of Huntsville; Casey Moppin and fiancée James, of Fayetteville; Madison Moppin of Denton, Texas; Jesse Moppin, of Marble; and Fiona Moppin, and Piper Moppin, both of Huntsville. Shannon is also survived by her grandmother, Jo Ellen MacLean; grandfather, Don MacLean; one niece, Melanie Moppin; three nephews, Kasen Moppin, Everett Martin, and Declan Martin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends 1:00 PM-2:00 PM, Friday, August 18, 2023, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, with Wesley May officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers and James Martin. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
