Shari Ann Roebuck, 65, of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away October 8, 2024, at the Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Shari was born January 23, 1959, in Nowata, to Charles Russell and Helen Jo (Turner) Yelton. She was a 1977 graduate of Delaware High School and the Valedictorian of her class. During those years she participated in and won many 4-H speech contests. She also enjoyed being a farm girl and riding horses. Shari married the love of her life, Melvin Roebuck, in June of 1977. Shari was the office manager for Dr. Jeffrey Gibson’s office for many years. Shari and Melvin coached their daughter’s softball team. Shari was always looking for ways to meet the needs of others. As a member of First Baptist Church, she taught children’s Sunday School for many years. She later taught Senior Adults, which she admitted was a real challenge since the ladies knew their Bible so well. Above all, Shari loved her family. Her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and other family had a special place in her heart set aside for them. She loved giving and helping anyone in need. Shari will be missed by all who know her.
Shari is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Jo Yelton, and a sister, Marcia Postrach. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Roebuck; a daughter, Holly Annette Nichols and husband Mac, of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Ella Kate Nichols and William Charles Nichols, both of Dallas, Texas; a brother David Yelton and his wife Lavah, of Laguna Vista, Texas; many other relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Nowata, with Rob Stanley officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemoriesnowata.com or on the Benjamin Funeral Home Facebook page.
