Shari graduated from Gilbert High School in Gilbert, AZ before attending the University of Arizona in Tucson. She moved back to the Pacific Northwest about five years ago with her long-time partner Casey, where she embraced the outdoor lifestyle, engaging in hiking, kickball, paddle boarding, and fishing. Shari was also an amazing mom to her dog, Jack, often seen exploring the Cascade mountains together.
Professionally, Shari was a dedicated member of the accounting team at Phoenix New Times, where she was about to celebrate her eighth anniversary this month with the company. Her commitment and enthusiasm made her a cherished colleague and she is greatly missed.
Shari is survived by her mother, Sandi Christianson; father, Mark Rutkowski; brothers, Matthew, Jonathan, Chris, and Jeremy; her long-time partner, Casey Malek; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held on February 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Modern Moments, 3335 E. Baseline Road, Gilbert, AZ. Shari's life and spirit will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
