Sharilyn Sue Abbajay, age 68, of Lanham, MD, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on October 12, 1956, in Toledo, OH, Sharilyn was the beloved daughter of Richard Charles Abbajay and Patricia Mae Zientara.
She is survived by her devoted son, Justin (Monica), and was affectionately known as “Nana” to her cherished grandsons, Joshua and Caleb. She also leaves behind her loving siblings Shelley (Jimmy) and Kelley (Tobie); and her adored nieces and nephews: Chris (Karin), Noelle, Jessica, Ryan, and Chloe.
Sharilyn touched countless lives with her immense love, generosity, and mentorship. She had a deep passion for family traditions, especially during the holidays, and found joy in cooking, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her beloved grandsons.
Sharilyn lived a full and remarkable life. A professional dancer in her early years, she began her career as a nail technician and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Operating Officer in the salon and plastic surgery industries. She was featured in Who’s Who and honored by ISPA for her significant contributions to the industry, where she was regarded as an integral leader and innovator.
Sharilyn worked hard, loved deeply, and gave selflessly. Her strength, warmth, and spirit will be dearly missed—but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Forever and always in our hearts.
