Sharon Elaine Johnson Arnold

Sharon Elaine Johnson Arnold, 76, of Crossnore, NC, passed away on November 7, 2024 after several months of cancer-related complications. Sharon attended Crossnore Baptist Church.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Gorman Atlee Johnson and Edna Garwood Johnson Hutcheson, and sister, Dorothey Louise Johnson Wiseman.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Wayne Arnold, of the home; daughter, Andrea A. Buchanan (Michael), of Crossnore; son, Eric J. Arnold (Fabienne), of Colmar, France; sister, Carolyn J. Garland, of Crossnore; brother, Robert Parlier, of Matthews, N.C. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Leah Kate Buchanan and Marley Ann Buchanan of Crossnore; and Nina Arnold and Yann Arnold of Colmar, France. She leaves several close friends and relatives, and beloved nieces and nephews.

Sharon graduated in 1966 from Crossnore High School, and attended Appalachian State University. She worked two decades as office manager for Dr. Vinson at Cannon Hospital in Banner Elk. She loved cooking and discovering new foods and food preparation, which resulted in her opening and operating Loaves and Fishes Restaurant and Catering in Crossnore for 18 years.

Outgoing and talkative, Sharon traveled extensively both domestically and internationally, and loved meeting new people.

She loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and never missed an opportunity to encourage people and give witness to those with whom she came into contact.

A memorial service for Sharon will be held in the springtime.

The family would like to thank Amorem-Hospice of Lenoir for their help over these final weeks, and are especially grateful to the women and entire congregation of Crossnore Baptist Church for the ongoing support and wonderful cooking for many months during Sharon's injury recuperation and illness.
