LOWVILLE- Sharon Marie Baker, 79, formerly of Snell Road, passed away Saturday morning, December 27, 2025, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility after a long illness.

Sharon was born on November 11, 1946, in
Watertown, NY, a daughter of the late Clinton Shaw and the late Myrtle Boshart Shaw. She attended Augustinian Academy in Carthage. On October 30, 1965, she married Harry E. Baker at St. James Catholic Church, Carthage. After her children were in school, Sharon worked as a CNA at Carthage Area Hospital in the Skilled Nursing Unit for 20 years. She went above and beyond for each patient, and each patient held a special place in her heart. Sharon then worked as a home health provider for U.S. Care and Family Home Care in Lowville until her retirement. She had her own baking business "Cakes by Sharon" and she passed her love of baking on to her grandchildren.
Sharon was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lowville. She was also a member of the Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 Ladies Auxiliary and the Valley Homemakers. Sharon enjoyed sharing time with her many friends over coffee and going swimming whenever she had the opportunity. She was known for helping anyone in need. Sharon loved music, dancing, and having a good time and even a little wine sometimes. She enjoyed shopping for anyone she could buy for. Sharon had a love for gardening, planting flowers, and watching them grow. Most of all, she loved her family and life and always wanted to give everyone a kiss on the forehead.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff of the first and fourth floors of the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility for their loving care and compassion provided and most recently to the emergency room staff at Lewis County General Hospital. How lucky we are to have you as part of our family.
