Sharon Bertogli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruffenach Family Funeral Homes - Oxford on Sep. 10, 2025.
Sharon "Sherry" Lee Bertogli-Carr, age 68, of Lincoln University, PA, passed
away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a short
but courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 9, 1956, at Fort Benning Military Hospital in Fort Moore, GA,
she was the daughter of the late Wilmer J. Mercer and Nora Lee Pennington.
Sherry built her life on determination, love, and a spontaneous spirit that made
her unforgettable to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas A. Carr Sr.; her children,
Senecca T. Amoriello (Edward), Anthony J. McDaniel, and Gabrielle T. Bertogli
(Fernando); and her stepchildren, Dirk Carr and Cicely Carr. Sherry was the
proud grandmother of Bianca, Dominic, Anthony Jr., Summer, Hazel, Sherri,
Alibbia, Armani, Arlo, and Arlen, and great-grandmother to Xavier and Ike. She is
also survived by her brothers, James Burns (Angie) and Shane Mercer, as well
as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved dog, Lilly.
She was preceded in death by her brother James E. Mundy, sister Anna M.
Richardson, grandson Aleckzadrian, and stepson Thomas Carr Jr.
Throughout her life, Sherry worked as a server, bartender, and caregiver-roles
that reflected her hardworking nature and care for others. She found joy in
gardening, collecting unique rocks, treasure hunting at thrift shops, relaxing at
the beach, enjoying a drink and dancing, and sharing laughter with a perfectly
timed (and often inappropriate) joke. Above all, her happiest moments were
spent with family and friends.
Sherry lived by the words, "It's never too late to have a happy childhood" and
"Anything worth having is worth working for." She embraced joy wherever it could
be found and never took a moment for granted.
Though she is no longer with us, Sherry's spirit lives on in the memories she
created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with visitation
from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and a service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at
Ruffenach Family Funeral Home in Oxford, PA.
