Sharon A. Brown, a cherished member of the Evansville community, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on November 22, 1939, in Evansville, Sharon's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joyful moments that touched the hearts of many.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Chester Brown, who was her steadfast companion in life's journey. She was also preceded by her parents, James and Lena Carrico, and both of her siblings, Ginny Collier and John "Buddy" Carrico, with whom she shared a childhood filled with fond memories.
Sharon's legacy continues through her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Reif (Adrian), who was the apple of her eye. Her grandchildren, Riannon Mabrey (Jason) and Dustin Stephens, brought immense joy to her life, and her great-grandchildren, Lenah and Logan, were the twinkling stars that brightened her days.
A proud graduate of Central High School, Sharon carried the spirit of her alma mater throughout her life. She dedicated many years of service as a secretary for Strouse's, where she was known for her professionalism and warm demeanor. Upon becoming a grandmother, Sharon embraced the role with open arms, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Sharon's interests painted a picture of a life well-lived and full of passion. She was an avid reader of Christmas theme mystery novels, finding comfort and excitement in their festive twists and turns. The Hallmark Channel was a source of heartwarming entertainment, aligning perfectly with her love for stories that spoke to the heart.
No one could rival Sharon's love for fried chicken, a dish that she not only relished but also served with love on countless family gatherings. Shopping was more than a pastime for Sharon; it was an opportunity to find joy in the little things, whether for herself or as gifts for those she loved.
A master of the Courier and Press crossword puzzle, Sharon's sharp mind and wit were as impressive as they were endearing. Every puzzle completed was a testament to her intelligence and persistence.
Sharon's life was a series of special moments, each one made more meaningful by her presence. Her travels with lifelong friends were adventures that she treasured, creating memories that will be recounted for years to come.
Sharon A. Brown's life was a beacon of love and joy, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
