Sharon Canosa Obituary

Sharon Canosa
September 28, 2024
Sharon Canosa, 75, a beloved resident of Branford, CT for 45 years, passed away on September 28, 2024. She was the devoted wife of Albert Canosa for 52 years. Born in West Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Margaret Good.
Sharon is survived by five brothers: William (Cindi) Good of Guilford, James (Ronnie) Good of Colchester, Paul Good of Hamden, Kenneth (Sue) Good of Wallingford, and Dean Good of Reno, NV. She was the loving mother of Adam Canosa (Rabab) of North Branford, CT, and a cherished grandmother to Cooper and Caprio Canosa of North Branford, CT.
Sharon earned her undergraduate degree in English from Southern Connecticut State University and worked in various administrative roles for the State of Connecticut.
She was also acknowledged for contributing to Dr. Daniel Levinson's renowned book, "The Seasons of a Man's Life". This ten-year study of forty adult males identified key developmental phases affecting men's behavior, emotions, and personal growth. Dr. Levinson, a pioneer in positive adult development, is best known for his stage-crisis theory and made significant contributions to psychology.
In addition to her professional life, Sharon was an active volunteer in her community. Her favorite role was with Connecticut Hospice of Branford, where she dedicated much of her time to helping others.
Her family, friends, and everyone who knew her will deeply miss her.
Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Friday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Dear Al, Adam, Rabab and children,
Our lives connected many years ago during the days of Olin corporation. We shared many good times at Christmas gatherings with FRANK DeMilo, Al FUSCO and many others. Frank will be there to greet Sharon in heaven and probably plan another party .
The years pass by quickly and we connected once again with MARIA.
Adam and Rabab our acquaintances, as well, go back years.
How small this world is as it brings old friends together with joyful memories and saddness.
TONY and I were so happy to see you again.
May you rest in peace, SHARON. And may God watch over each of you as you mourn your special wife, mother , and grandmother.
Love Tony and Donna

How one person can impact so many lives.......
One day I received a phone call from a woman I never knew. This woman shared her life changing experience with me. The woman I speak of is Sharon Canosa. This lovely lady shared her heartfelt feelings about a book she read on Vietnam. She was truly intrigued and inspired to help veterans in someway possible. SHARON spoke to a priest, and was told that veterans would love the comfort of red white and blue prayer shawls, this project and strong desire to help veterans led Sharon to me , as I am involved with St. John Bosco´s prayer shawls volunteers.
SHARON immediately became an inspiring part of this group. We made trips to the VA in West Haven, donating about 75 prayer shawls.
I speak from my heart with love, admiration, and sorrow for my kind, remarkable friend that I truly loved. My life was drawn to SHARON`s. I feel God bless me in so many ways, knowing her, sharing our lives and sharing her last days during her illness. May you rest in peace, my dear friend SHARON.
With all my love, MARIA BATTICK.

Sharon was a very good friend and former school mate. She was the maid of honor in our wedding party. She and Al were very good friends of ours and she will be missed dearly. Heaven has gained a special angel and she will look down upon us forever.

I met Sharon on the day we took the entrance exam for Sacred Heart Academy. She was Good and I was Hannon so we were seated in the same room that day. We were both from West Haven so we rode on the same bus to SHA. We became friends. I hadn´t seen Sharon in many years but I remember her as sweet and kind. I am so very sorry for your loss.
