Sharon Marie Charboneau, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on April 14, 1948, to Robert and Audrey Young in Fergus Falls, Minnesota,

Sharon began her educational journey at Fergus Falls High School, later pursuing a career in nursing by attaining her LPN certification from Miller Hospital. She dedicated her early professional life as a Licensed Practical Nurse before transitioning to become a Certified Nursing Assistant at Knute Nelson, where she devoted 22 years of compassionate service to her community.

Family meant everything to Sharon. She was the heart of every holiday gathering, joyfully entertaining her loved ones for birthdays, anniversaries, and any special occasion that called for celebration. Her culinary talents shone brightly in her kitchen, where her cooking and baking brought comfort and joy to many. As an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nurturing them with love and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Sharon married her beloved husband, Verl Charboneau, on May 17, 1969, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership filled with love and devotion. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Steven (Shelly) and Michael (Jill), and daughter, Jill (Troy) Thomas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jenna, Mitchell, Adam, Blake, Hunter, Tyler, Addy Rose and Olivia, as well as her great-grandchildren, Oliver, Minerva, and Eleanor. Sharon is also survived by her sisters, Virginia (John) Westby and Cynthia (Rodger) Shaver.

In addition to her dedication to family, Sharon enjoyed playing games and sharing laughter with her loved ones. A visit to the casino occasionally brought her excitement, particularly when luck was on her side. Her warmth, hospitality, and vibrant personality were a source of comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation will be held on October 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory located in Alexandria, Minnesota. This will be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the same location. Sharon will be laid to rest at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, with burial services beginning at 1:00 PM.

Sharon Marie Charboneau’s spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to local hospice volunteers.
