Sharon Lynn "Sherrie" Costa

To the Family and Friends of Sharon Costa,

Sharon Lynn "Sherrie" Costa (née Nimmo), age 81, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Roseville, California. Born on October 17, 1944, in California, Sharon lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, devotion, and kindness.

Sharon was a devoted mother, partner, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She dedicated her life to raising her three sons-Kent Costa and his wife Maureen, Kurt Costa and his wife Claudia, and Kevin Costa-and caring for her loving partner of 40 years, Roy Vessels. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to embrace her grandchildren: Andrew Costa and his wife Alex, Aaron Costa, Macy Costa and her partner Trevor; as well as her great-grandson Ledger Jones. She also welcomed step-grandchildren Gonzalo Garcia, Christopher Garcia, and Michael Garcia into her heart with warmth.

She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Patricia Kuhlman and Debbie Henning, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched deeply. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents George Harvey Nimmo and Annette Fanning Nimmo; her brother Jerry Nimmo; and her sister Barbara Jean Nimmo.

In her younger years, Sharon found joy in the sun-soaked shores of California. She loved the beach and was an avid surfer and skilled waterskier. Her passion for music was lifelong-she especially cherished the sounds of The Beach Boys and Elvis Presley. Animals held a special place in Sharon's heart; she adored all creatures but had a particular fondness for cats-none more so than her beloved feline companion Candy.

Sharon's warmth extended far beyond her family circle. Known affectionately as "the cookie lady," she became a beloved figure in her neighborhood by handing out cookies to any child who came by asking. Her generosity of spirit left an indelible mark on those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Sharon's memory. Please join us as we gather to remember the joy she brought into our lives.

May Sharon's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on January 24, 2026, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers 2691 Riverside Blvd. there will be a reception following the service. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Please join us.
