Sharon Craig Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'ahu Mortuary on Jan. 9, 2026.
In Loving Memory of
Sharon Edniss Craig (Sherry)
Our beloved mother, Sharon Edniss Craig, affectionately known as Sherry, was born Sharon E. Abernathy on Tuesday, August 15, 1944, in Tampa, Florida, at Drew Army Airfield, as World War II was drawing to a close.
Her parents, Ralph and Mary Maureen Abernathy, were overjoyed at the birth of their daughter. Not long afterward, the family moved to the East Bay area of California, settling in Richmond, where Sherry was raised alongside her sister, Gayle.
Later in life, she met a handsome and well dressed young man, Ron Craig Sr. They were married and were blessed with two children, Lisa and Ronnie Jr.
In 1968, the family moved to Honolulu, Hawai i, where Sherry lived for more than 57 years. As is true for many, life was not always easy, and at times she wondered whether this was all there was to life. In Jehovah's loving care, she was contacted by Jehovah's Witnesses and began a Bible study with them.
Not long afterward, despite many challenges, Sherry made a heartfelt dedication to Jehovah God and symbolized that dedication by water baptism on January 13, 1974, at Ala Moana Beach. From that point on, she remained loyal to Jehovah throughout her life.
For nearly 53 years, she found great joy in sharing the good news of God's Kingdom, speaking to people about her loving heavenly Father, Jehovah, and the wonderful hope found in the Bible. In her later years, she continued to participate in the ministry by associating with friends through Zoom, encouraging others with the hope of the Paradise earth.
Sherry now rests in Jehovah's memory, awaiting the fulfillment of His loving promise of the resurrection to life on earth-Acts 24:15 She will return, not as someone weighed down by illness or frailty, but as a healthy, vibrant person, free from pain, breathing difficulties, medications, and medical visits-those former things will be no more.
Those who knew Sherry often spoke of her cheerful disposition, her hers, and her kind, sweet nature. She consistently put others first. Her life was centered on caring for, protecting, and providing for her family.genuine interest in others, and her kind, sweet nature. She consistently put others first. Her life was centered on caring for, protecting, and providing for her family.
She deeply loved her children, Lisa and Ronnie, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Time spent with family brought her immense happiness, and she cherished every moment with them.
