Sharon L Dominicos, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday October 21st. Sharon was born in Fulton on August 22, 1944, to Herbert and B. Jean Harke Dunn and was a graduate of Mexico Academy, Class of 1962. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield in 2009 and found great joy in her grandchildren, family and friends. Sharon loved going to her grandchildren's events from plays and orchestral concerts to basketball games and soccer matches. They were the joy of her life. She enjoyed spending time with family in Mexico and was always excited for apple season! In addition, she cherished her great friendship with Gloria Whaley with whom she was close and traveled the countryside.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 46 years Gary Dominicos in 2011, her son Michael Andrew Dominicos in 1993 and her sister Joyce in 2024. She is survived by her children, Tracey L. Krell (John) and Gary S. Dominicos (Jayne); grandchildren, Amanda Krell (Shayla Donath), John Dominicos, Jacob Krell and Jillian Dominicos; siblings, Gail Hurlbut (Gary), Marlea Munger (David), Larry Dunn (Sue) and sister-in-law Gail Dominicos; also, an uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to share our gratefulness and appreciation for Danielle Smith, who cared for Sharon daily while she was living in her apartment. Danielle made a huge difference in her life in many ways. We would also like to thank the fantastic nurses at Upstate Hospital for their care of our mother over the past several months. Your thoughtfulness and efforts made a huge difference. In addition, the family wanted to express their deep appreciation for both Dr. Mackenzie Trovato and Dr Radhika Mehta.

Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home will be open Monday October 27th at 10 am to receive visitors, followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Please, come as you are.

A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held later. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Advocates for Upstate.

Gary and Tracey,

Thinking of you and your families during this difficult time. I just wanted to share that over the years, Sharon was always so kind and outgoing to me. I truly enjoyed our conversations at family gatherings and will carry those memories with me. Losing our parents is never easy, but I hope you find comfort in the wonderful memories you shared and in knowing she is now at peace.
