SHARON A. GEHRTS, 62, of Aurelia, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Cemetery in Larrabee, Iowa. Pastor Don Tisthammer will officiate. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to them in Sharon's honor.

Sharon was born on February 9, 1963 to Roland and Darlene (Zishka) Guthridge. She grew up on a farm by Larrabee, Iowa. She learned to love animals, especially horses. She enjoyed gardening and also baking with her mom. She attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa, where she obtained her bachelor's degree. She worked at various jobs, her most recent employment was at VT Industries.

Sharon had two wonderful daughters, Wendy and Krystal. She enjoyed watching them in their interests as they grew up. She was active as a 4H leader and girl scout leader and also taught Sunday School.

She later married Myron Eugene Gehrts on May 24, 2010 in Juneau, Alaska. They enjoyed hunting together. She loved hunting black bears. Her most memorable was her Axis deer hunt. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and quilting.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Roland and Darlene Guthridge and one step grandchild Olivia Bauer.

She will lovingly be remembered by her husband Myron Gehrts of Aurelia, Iowa; two daughters Wendy (Cloyd) Goosen of Larrabee, Iowa, and Krystal (Cory) Shillington of Humboldt, Iowa; five grandchild Daniel Shillington, Lydia Pearson, Ash Babcock, Bree Babcock, and Greyson Bauer; brother Terry Guthridge and sister Donna Holm. She will also be remembered by her step children Adam Gehrts, Ashley (Monty) Flaugh, Melanie (Todd) Bauer, and Amber Pearson (Josh Babcock); also several nieces and nephews.
