Sharon E. Gingras

1954 - 2023

Sharon E. Gingras, 68, of Cheshire, died January 8, 2023, at Berkshire Medical Center. Sharon was born October 9, 1954 and was a daughter of Betty-Gene Jester Bridgham and Keith E. Bridgham.

She grew up in Lanesborough and attended Lanesborough Elementary School and Mount Greylock Regional High School, where she graduated in 1972.

Sharon worked in insurance, was a production control coordinator, and worked other jobs at General Electric for 19 years until her retirement in 1991.

She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish where she taught religious education for many years. She was also a volunteer of the former Cheshire Elementary School library where she devoted many hours shelving books, filling out notices, and helping the students find just the right book.

Sharon enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, but most of all spending time with her two grandchildren, the loves of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Gingras, whom she married June 28, 1975. She also leaves her daughter Christina E. Gingras, her son Michael R. Gingras, his wife Kaitlyn, her two grandchildren Alexandra (Lexi) Gingras and Owen Gingras, her brother Robert K. Bridgham (& Debbie), and sisters Donna Bridgham (& Diane), Kimberly Kelly (& Brian), Darleen Lynch (& John). She was predeceased by an infant sister Nancy Ann Bridgham.

Funeral services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Cheshire or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in care of Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home, PO Box 445, Cheshire, MA 01225.
