Sharon Diane Hamilton was born to Samuel Blakely and Dixie Mae Blakely, both of whom preceded her in death. Five siblings: Missionary Shirley Ann Moody, Sammie Earl Blakely, Stinson Leroy Blakely, Sharon Griffin, and Chris Shelmire as well as her brother-in-law, James Allen McLeod, also preceded her in death.
In life, Sharon, better known as Diane, enjoyed and loved celebrating with friends and family. When she was a child, she became a member of Triumph The Church in McLain MS. She later in life became a dedicated member of Prophetic and Deliverance Ministry of Gulfport, MS under the leadership of her pastor, Apostle Cordero Pittman. It was there that she rededicated her life back to Christ. Sharon attended school at The McLain Attendance Center and later went on to the Job Corp, where she studied and became a certified nurse assistant.
Sharon leaves many friends and family to cherish her memories and to celebrate her life. These include her 3 children: Edward Blakely of Gulfport, MS, Shonda (Ronald) Johnson of Jackson, MS, and Antippe Blakely (Lorenzo) Luvene of Gulfport MS. She also leaves to cherish her 6 grandchildren: Kierra Saunders, Jasmine Lucas, Trinity Johnson, Lorenzo Luvene, Jr, La` Asya Luvene, Edward Blakely Jr, Stinson Blakely; as well as 8 great grandchildren. Sharon was survived by four sisters: Gloria McLeod of McLain, MS, Shenita Blakely, Anita Toney, and Juanita Smith all of New Orleans, La, and three brothers: Willie J (Larethia) Blakely of McLain, Oliver Blakely, and Mitchell Blakely of New Orleans, La, one sister-in-law Lena Mae Blakely, and one brother-in-law, Isiah Moody, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A wake will be held from 5 - 7 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Rivers of Living Waters Church, Gulfport, MS to allow friends to gather and honor her memory. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, McLain, MS with visitation one hour before. Burial will follow immediately at McLain Cemetery.
