Sharon Lee Haney, age 65, of Howell, MI, passed away on November 23, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1960, in Detroit, MI, to the late Clarence and Irene Haney.
Sharon was raised in Detroit among a large, lively family, and those early bonds shaped the loving, nurturing person she became.
She enjoyed biking and taking long, peaceful walks, especially when she could bring her dogs to explore the trails at the Howell Nature Center. Animals held a special place in her heart, and her dogs were truly part of the family. Sharon took great pride in being a homemaker. She had a natural way of making everyone feel welcome, whether they were stopping by for a quick visit or staying long enough to share a meal and conversation. Her home was always a gathering place, full of warmth, comfort, and the kind of love that only she could create. Sharon's greatest joy in life was her family-she absolutely loved being a grandma, and she welcomed everyone with warmth, care, and an open heart. She had a gift for making a house feel like a home, always tending to those around her, including the family dogs, who adored her just as much. Sharon had a way of always making you smile. She was a bright and beautiful soul who will missed dearly by her loved ones. She had a mouth like a sailor, but she would always make you laugh with her quick jokes.
Sharon is survived by the love of her life, Michael Ference, with whom she shared 35 wonderful years. She is also survived by her daughter, Lorraine Haney; her grandchildren David Haney, Brandon Mayhew, Dugglis Lichlyter, and Jenna (Jon) Hutton; and her cherished great-grandchildren Violet, Damien, and Paetyn. She leaves behind her sister, Linda (Troy) Kincaid. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Irene, and her siblings Frank, Bob, Jim, Arlene, and Ilene.
