Sharon Denise Johnson was born on May 30, 1963 to Loretta Dyer and Frank Madkins Sr., in

Bakersfield, Ca. She accepted Christ at an early age while attending “The Evening Lights Saints

Church of God”. She received her education in both Bakersfield and Los Angeles, Ca.

including; Fremont Elementary, Manchester Elementary, Henry Clay Jr. High and Bakersfield

High School. In addition, she joined the Los Angeles Job Corps and successfully graduated

from the program. Sharon gave birth to three beautiful children whom she loved with all her

heart; two daughters LaDrinna, and Teresha, and her son, Rayland. In 1998, Sharon met the

Love of her Life, Ray Johnson. In 1999, they relocated to his hometown in St. Louis, where they

married and began a new life together. Sharon thrived in St. Louis and worked her way up to

becoming a hotel manager. She would often share her excitement about meeting numerous

sports figures, celebrities and musicians; including Nelly. In 2013, they moved back to

Bakersfield to be near her family. Upon their return to Bakersfield they attended the following

churches; St. Peter’s RCCM, St. John MBC, and Church of God until her health started to

decline.

Sharon was also one of the best hairstylists in Bakersfield. Her family and friends often relied on

her expertise in preparing for their special occasions and events. In addition, she attended

nursing school and obtained her certification as a nursing assistant. She dedicated over 20

years of service to her career. Sharon had a deep affection for assisting the elderly, treating

them with the same level of care and attention she would give her own family. Even while

battling her own illness, she made every effort to continue working until she was unable to do

so. Sharon worked at various nursing facilities throughout Bakersfield, Ca including; Valley

Convalescent, The Orchard, Mt. Vernon Rehab Center, and Kern River Transitional Care.

Sharon was a devoted and diehard fan of the San Francisco 49ers. She was blessed with the

opportunity to attend a game in Los Angeles, Ca. She fully showcased her loyalty by wearing

her 49ers outfit and tennis shoes, and received numerous compliments from the fans in the

stadium. However, the highlight of the evening was watching her team beat the pants off the

“LA Rams”. Sharon also had a passion for camping and fishing. A few months ago, they took a

vacation to Clear Lakes and truly enjoyed themselves. Sharon was thrilled with the amount of

fish they caught, bringing back a whole ice chest filled with fish. And, last month for Ray’s

birthday, she organized a trip to Vancouver, Washington where they had an amazing time

exploring the city and a night out on the town with her daughter, Teresha and her colleagues.

Sharon will be missed and remembered for her fun loving and caring personality, and her

competitive nature for a good game of dominos and spades. She also loved to share humorous

jokes, and stories that would definitely bring you to laughter. But, the Highlight of her life was

being a wife, mother, and grandmother to her three adorable grandchildren; Issac, Cameryn and

Ar’laya which brought her the “Greatest Joy”. In addition, she loved spending time with her

three puppies; Poonie, Cooter and Brody, and her grand-puppy Nipsey.

In heaven, Sharon joins her precious first born daughter, LaDrinna, sister’s; Elandra Perry,
