Sharon K. King
1947 – 2025
Sharon Kay King, 78, of Kidder, passed away November 6, 2025, at her home with her family at her side. She was born June 11, 1947, to Paul L. and Helen H. (Miles) Asher in Cameron, Missouri.
Sharon was a 1965 graduate of Cameron High School. On April 10, 1965, she married Linden King in Cameron, where they began their lives together. Over the years, they made homes in Gallatin, Perryville, Marshall, Cameron, Belton, and finally, in Kidder, where they have lived for the past 18 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for those she loved, even her "adopted" children and grandchildren. Her faith in God was the foundation of her life, guiding her with kindness, patience, and strength. She spent most of her years as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family, but also worked in several places over the years, including Yule's Café in Gallatin, Walmart and Eagan's Gift Shop in Cameron, a factory and as a bus monitor for special needs students in Belton.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love for her family, and her unwavering faith. As one of her "adopted" children described her, "She was the best at everything she did, from cooking up a feast to keeping the peace. She was a Godly woman, and I know where she is today."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen; step father Homer Hopper; son Darrell King; 3 brothers, Robert, Ronnie and Rick Asher.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harlan Cemetery, Cameron, MO.
Sharon is survived by her husband Linden of the home; son, Brian (Paula) King, Newton, IA; 2 daughters, Angela (Steve) Lager, Kidder, MO, Tawnya Carlton, Kidder, MO; 11 grandchildren, Justin (Dinnelle) King, Kearney, MO, Kyle King, Philippines, Alora King, Newton, IA, Alyssa King, Des Moines, IA, Dominique (Andy) Hamilton, Mount Moriah, MO, James (Kim) Russell, Conception Junction, MO, Morgan (David) Stickelman, Maryville, MO, Megan Russell, Kidder, MO, Chelsea Carlton-Conchola, Kansas City, KS, Cheyenne Farrow, Cameron, MO, Cassandra Carlton, Kidder, MO; 24 great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Donita) Asher, Winston, MO.
